About The Carrollton Funding Council
The Carrollton Funding Council was started because owners usually run into business funding when things are hardest, like a slow month, a tax bill or a supplier deadline, and they end up getting pitched when what they needed was someone to explain it.
Our aim is the reference we always wanted: what each product is, its cost in dollars and as an APR-equivalent, what the contract language means, and when each choice makes sense. We put banks, SBA, lines of credit and advances side by side in one table using identical columns.
Before any explainer is published, we check it against current funder agreements and public sources, and each one starts with a direct answer and shows both the date it was published and the date it was last updated. We never describe an advance as a loan, we never present any figure as an offer, and we never promise approval.
Each calculator runs the same math an underwriter would and shows every step. What they show is for illustration only, since the only terms that apply to you are the ones in an agreement you sign.
How we are paid
When a request we refer gets funded, the funding partner pays The Carrollton Funding Council. Reading, applying and getting options never cost readers anything. Partners drop referrers whose files underperform, so we care about fit rather than a sale, and that's why the site tells you plainly when a bank is the better route.
Our network
The Carrollton Funding Council has two kinds of partners: an exclusive network of funding partners, plus marketing partners. Once you submit a request, those partners may receive your information from us so they can evaluate and present funding options. We do not sell your information for unrelated purposes.
- Answer first
- Each explainer starts by answering directly in two or three sentences before getting into the detail. Question headings become the page's FAQ.
- Costs in two currencies
- Every factor rate is shown alongside its dollar cost and its APR-equivalent for the stated term. Ranges are labelled as ranges.
- Categories, not companies
- We compare types of funding, such as bank term loans, SBA 7(a), lines of credit and advances, but never specific lenders by name.
- Dated and maintained
- Every page shows the date it was published and the date it was last updated. If a product or the law changes, we update the page. Let us know if anything here has gone stale.
